This is seriously the most easy chocolate cake recipe ever!
I love a simple chocolate cake and this is by far my favourite go-to recipe for when I need to whip up a quick one. It is the recipe that every happy household needs!
Not only is it easy, but it really is delicious too.
Moist and flavourful. It almost defies logic that something so simple could taste so nice.
If you have visitors about to arrive, or kids coming for a playdate, or for whatever occasion. My husband even made this for me and surprised me for my birthday yesterday.
It is that easy!
Now, I have a Thermomix in my kitchen which has built in digital scales and it melts the butter, mixes the cake flawlessly and then grates the chocolate and makes the ganache as well. To learn more abut this amazing kitchen gadget, read my review.
- 120grams melted butter (4oz)
- 2 eggs
- 100g full cream milk (3.5oz)
- 1tsp natural vanilla extract
- 120g caster sugar (4oz)
- 30g cocoa powder (1oz)
- 1tsp baking powder
- Preheat oven to 180°celsius (350° Fahrenheit)and grease a 20cm cake tin
- Mix all ingredients together in your mixer (15sec / speed 5 for Thermomix)
- Pour into cake tin and bake for 30-35mins
It really is that simple.
Then you can decorate the cake any which way you like.
I like to use chocolate ganache which is just 100g grated dark chocolate melted with 80g of pure cream.
